OEFN invest in leadership development opportunities with ICDA

Current and emerging club leaders across the Outer East region are set to benefit from access to free professional development opportunities in 2026, with the Institute of Community Directors Australia scheduled to deliver two specialised leadership webinars in coming months.

Supporting leadership capability within clubs has been identified as a core focus for OEFN, with high rates of burnout in key club roles and the difficulty of finding ready-made successors when a leader steps aside. Alongside other initiatives being explored, OEFN has made development accessible by funding this education, removing the cost to participate.

The first piece of this support takes place on .Monday 20th April From 6.30-8.30pm, ICDA will deliver their first interactive workshop, exploring the benefits and challenges of different leadership styles, developing adaptability as a leader, understanding ethical leadership, empowering and developing your team members, and the importance of self-care in sustainable leadership.

Those interested in attending should note:

– Monday 20th April, 6.30pm

– The session is delivered via Zoom

– Attendees must log on from individual devices, which have working microphones and cameras

– Attendees should have a stable internet connection

– The workshop is interactive – engagement and participation is required

Registration is essential. Contact your club for the registration link.

The second session addresses Succession Planning and Committee Effectiveness, and will take place on June 15th. This should allow club leaders time to implement their learning ahead of AGM season, planning ahead for any changes in office bearers for 2027.
