AFL Outer East welcomes today’s announcements in regard to the resumption of community sport, in particular the removal of 25km travel restrictions and movement from Metro to Regional areas.
Our intent is to return all competitions, football, and netball this week.
The AFL Outer East Commission is meeting tonight to finalise our return to play policies, in line with AFL Victoria, Netball Victoria and State Government guidelines.
Key areas that will be addressed include:
- A return to football and netball from this week.
- Management of current restriction levels for clubs, including variations in regional and metro areas.
- Structure of the remainder of season 2021.
- Implementing systems that ensure minimal financial risk for host clubs, particular those in metro regions.
- Understanding and implementing new guidelines and restrictions.
We will provide detailed information for all members of the AFL Outer East Community tomorrow afternoon in regard to the weekends matches and the remainder of the 2021 season.
