In a joint initiative, AFL Outer East and AFL Gippsland offers an exciting, full time opportunity to for a highly motivated, enthusiastic and suitably qualified individual to serve as our Umpiring Operations Manager.
The purpose of the Umpiring Operations Manager role is to manage the recruitment, coaching, recognition and development of umpires in the Yarra Ranges and Gippsland Umpiring Associations. The role aims to retain and grow the number of quality umpires and umpire coaches across both regions.
This is a vitally important position for Football in both regions, requiring a highly organised individual with a strong attention to detail, a sound understanding of Umpiring, excellent communication skills and a proven ability to lead and develop people.
A passion for football and umpiring, enthusiasm, commitment, and the ability to work well within a team and individually, will be key to success in this role. Equally important will be the ability to liaise with, manage, and build relations with a diverse range of stakeholders.
The successful applicant will posses
- High level written and verbal communication skills.
- High level administration & presentation skills.
- Proven experience in administration, preferably in a sporting environment.
- Experience and understanding of football and netball clubs and league environments.
- Strong understanding of Umpiring and the developmental needs of all disciplines
- High level and competent decision-making and problem-solving skills and makes decisions with the best interest of Umpiring in mind
- Current Victorian Drivers License
- Strong work ethic, with ability to work flexible hours
We are looking for a talented individual who is self-motivated, reliable, and will work well within the wider organisational teams, including volunteers. An understanding of Australian Rules Football, and Umpiring in particular, is desirable
